Delphi Ventures
Delphi Ventures is a thesis-driven, high-conviction firm that allocates across core themes that we believe will dramatically shape the world
On-chain activity
Delphi Ventures Fund
Delphi Ventures Fund provides early-stage venture capital to blockchain and Web3 technology projects. The fund specializes in decentralized finance, infrastructure, and consumer applications, offering capital allocation and strategic support to portfolio companies. Companies receive research-backed investment decisions, operational guidance, and access to Delphi Digital's broader ecosystem of technical resources.
Delphi Ventures
Delphi Ventures is the venture capital arm of the Delphi Digital ecosystem, a group of affiliated but legally separate entities sharing a brand and mission. Delphi Digital was founded in 2018 as an institutional-grade crypto research firm; Delphi Ventures emerged from that foundation around 2019–2020 to deploy capital, and Delphi Labs was later established as an incubator for early-stage protocol building. Together, the three arms are designed to feed each other: proprietary research surfaces investment candidates, the venture fund backs them, and the labs team can contribute directly to protocol development.
Investment Model
Unlike many crypto venture funds that raise and deploy external limited partner capital, Delphi Ventures invests primarily its own internal capital. The firm describes this as true skin in the game — it is exposed to the same outcomes as the founders it backs. This structure means the fund is not running on a traditional 2-and-20 management fee model tied to external LP commitments, which the team argues aligns incentives more cleanly with long-term outcomes.
The firm focuses on seed and Series A stages. According to Tracxn, Delphi Ventures has made roughly 24 seed-stage investments with an average round size of approximately $11.3 million and 17 Series A investments averaging around $9.16 million. As of early 2026, the fund has backed over 100 companies across 27 geographies, with three portfolio companies reaching unicorn status: Mysten Labs, LayerZero Labs, and Immutable.
Investment Thesis
Delphi Ventures organizes its convictions around six core themes it calls Trustless, Infrastructure, Digital, Intelligence, Atomic, and Breakthroughs. The underlying argument is that a convergence of crypto, artificial intelligence, and deep tech will render legacy institutional models obsolete and establish new foundations for economic and social coordination over the coming decade.
Crypto sits at the center of the thesis. The firm characterizes it as freedom technology — a set of tools that replaces financial and institutional intermediaries with code and cryptographic incentives. The focus is on verticals where network effects have historically been captured by centralized incumbents and where blockchain architecture can credibly redistribute that value capture.
Project submissions are evaluated with support from an AI analyst the team calls Bob, built on custom internal infrastructure. The firm explicitly seeks founders operating with non-consensus worldviews, and positions itself as a long-term partner rather than a passive financial backer.
Team
Delphi Ventures is led by Tom Shaughnessy, a founding partner who is also co-founder of Delphi Digital. Drew Henderson serves as a partner, and Rawson Haverty as principal. The firm lists nine team members in total across investing and support functions. Delphi Ventures General Partner LLC is registered as an Exempt Reporting Adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is headquartered in Middletown, Delaware.
Solana Ecosystem Presence
Delphi has a significant and well-documented connection to Solana — both analytically and through direct investments. Delphi Digital's research division has published extensive coverage of Solana infrastructure, including an in-depth report titled "Solana the Monolith," and its Year Ahead 2026 report described Solana as "the place to trade" and characterized the network as on track to become exchange-grade infrastructure operating like a decentralized Nasdaq.
On the venture side, Delphi Ventures has backed multiple Solana-native or Solana-adjacent projects:
MagicBlock — Delphi Digital participated in MagicBlock's $7.5 million seed round announced in April 2025, led by Lightspeed Faction. MagicBlock builds real-time infrastructure for on-chain games and applications on Solana, pioneering a technology called Ephemeral Rollups that enables app-specific performance without leaving the Solana base layer.
DoubleZero — Delphi Ventures participated in DoubleZero's $28 million round in March 2025. DoubleZero is building a private fiber-optic network connecting Solana validators, designed to reduce latency disparities between geographically distributed nodes and bring exchange-grade networking infrastructure to the protocol. The project entered mainnet beta in late 2024 with validated multicasts via Solana's Turbine propagation layer.
Earlier in Solana's history, the Delphi Labs arm served as an investor in Solrise Finance, a Solana-based asset management protocol, giving the team technical and strategic support during its development.
Broader Portfolio
Beyond Solana, recent Delphi Ventures investments reflect the firm's expanding thesis into AI and deep tech. Notable 2025–2026 activity includes 375ai (AI infrastructure, $5 million, October 2025), Inference Labs (zero-knowledge AI, $3 million, June 2025), ORO AI (AI data infrastructure, $6 million, April 2025), Ambient ($7.2 million, March 2025), and Bluff ($21 million, February 2026). The firm has also backed DeFi infrastructure projects across multiple chains, including Suilend on Sui and Cabal on Initia, reflecting a chain-agnostic approach within its crypto sleeve.
CryptoRank has tracked a retail ROI of approximately 7.9x across publicly verifiable Delphi Ventures positions, though the firm does not publicly disclose fund-level performance figures or assets under management.
Ecosystem Role
Delphi Ventures occupies a distinctive position in the Solana investment landscape because it combines capital with two other active arms: a research team that publishes regular market intelligence, and a labs team that has contributed directly to protocol development. This integrated structure means portfolio companies often receive research support and technical involvement alongside capital, not just financial backing. The firm's early conviction on Solana — expressed through both published research and direct investments in core infrastructure like DoubleZero and MagicBlock — has made it one of the more prominent research-backed investors with meaningful Solana exposure.
