About

BitcoinVN

BitcoinVN is Vietnam's first and longest-running cryptocurrency exchange, founded in Ho Chi Minh City in late 2013 and operational since 2014. Built by a Vietnamese-German founding team — Nguyen Tran Bao Phuong, Dominik Weil, Alex Winter, and Phil Trinh — the platform has spent more than a decade serving as the primary on-ramp and off-ramp between Vietnamese dong (VND) and digital assets. Legally registered as BVX Solutions Inc. in Panama, BitcoinVN has been featured in Bloomberg, CoinDesk, and Bitcoin Magazine, and remains one of the most recognised crypto services in Southeast Asia.

What BitcoinVN Does

BitcoinVN operates as a non-custodial instant swap exchange rather than a traditional order-book exchange. Users swap one asset for another and the settlement lands directly in their own wallet — there is no platform account required for most transactions, no order book to navigate, and no leverage or margin products. The model is deliberately simple: connect a wallet, select assets, confirm the swap, and funds arrive within seconds.

This design philosophy distinguishes BitcoinVN from centralised exchanges that custody user funds. Because the platform uses its own liquidity pools to fill orders rather than matching buyers with sellers, execution is near-instant and does not depend on counterparty availability.

Supported Assets and Fiat Integration

BitcoinVN supports over 150 digital assets, ranging from major networks to privacy coins and stablecoins across multiple chains. Supported assets include Bitcoin (BTC) with Lightning Network compatibility, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Monero (XMR), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), Ripple (XRP), Toncoin (Gram/TON), and a wide selection of stablecoins — USDT, USDC, DAI, and USDS — available on multiple blockchain networks.

On the fiat side, BitcoinVN supports Vietnamese dong (VND), USD, and EUR. VND deposits and withdrawals move via domestic bank transfer or cash pickup, which makes BitcoinVN one of the few crypto platforms with genuine local banking integration in Vietnam — a significant practical advantage for Vietnamese users who cannot easily fund international accounts.

Fees and Limits

Standard swap fees are 0.2%, with a VIP tier at 0.1% for high-volume users. Transaction limits generally run from approximately 40 to 25,000 USD equivalent per transaction. Network fees are charged separately and vary by asset and chain. A referral programme offers participants 10% of exchange fees generated by referred users.

KYC and Privacy

BitcoinVN operates without routine identity verification. No account registration is needed to execute a standard swap, placing it among the more accessible non-custodial exchange services globally. Identity verification is triggered only when transactions are flagged by automated AML screening — the platform describes this as a "Rare KYC" model. Users who are flagged and decline verification receive a refund within 30 days, though funds may be held during compliance review. Citizens of the United States, Iran, Cuba, and North Korea are restricted. Certain activities — including mixing and tumbling — are explicitly prohibited by the platform's terms of service.

Liquidity Pool Programme and Solana Integration

Beyond the consumer swap interface, BitcoinVN operates an opt-in liquidity pool programme that allows institutional and sophisticated investors to earn yield by providing the assets that back the platform's swap engine. This is the primary point of connection to the Solana ecosystem tracked on Solana Compass.

BitcoinVN's SOL liquidity pool has been one of the fastest-growing and highest-demand pools on the platform. As of May 2026, demand for Solana swaps prompted the platform to expand the SOL pool's capacity from 2,000 SOL to 5,000 SOL. SOL was cited as the highest-APR option among available liquidity pools at that time. The platform is transitioning pool fee structures toward a standardised 5 basis point distribution fee, down from earlier rates that reached as high as 50 basis points; fee-free unstaking is offered to providers in pools affected by the reduction.

Other assets available in the liquidity pool programme include DAI, Dogecoin (including wrapped DOGE on BNB Smart Chain), Monero (with a cap), USDS, and DASH. The programme carries disclosed custodial risk and is explicitly positioned as unsuitable for risk-averse participants — funds deposited become part of the platform's operational float.

API and Integrations

BitcoinVN provides a documented public API that enables programmatic access to its swap engine. Third parties use the API to embed BitcoinVN's exchange functionality into their own products. As of June 2026, B2P Central integrated the BitcoinVN swap engine, extending its reach to a new user base. The platform also maintains a physical Bitcoin ATM network within Vietnam, serving users who prefer or require cash-based access to crypto.

Regulatory Context

Vietnam's crypto regulatory environment changed significantly on 1 January 2026, when the Law on Digital Technology Industry took effect. An onshore pilot for licensed, dong-settled exchanges began in September 2025, and the Ministry of Finance opened license applications in January 2026, requiring substantial charter capital. BitcoinVN's Panama incorporation and long operational history in the region position it as an established incumbent in what is now a formalising market. The platform has not publicly disclosed the status of any Vietnamese regulatory application as of this writing.

Team and Background

The founding team's Vietnamese-German composition reflects BitcoinVN's dual audience: local Vietnamese users who need VND fiat access, and internationally oriented users seeking a privacy-respecting, account-optional swap service in the region. The platform publishes a blog, BV Insights, covering Bitcoin infrastructure, security topics (hardware wallets, clear signing, Lightning Network yield), and entrepreneurship commentary relevant to the Vietnamese crypto market.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

BitcoinVN's relevance to the Solana ecosystem comes through two channels: its SOL swap pair and its SOL liquidity pool programme. For SOL holders looking to convert directly to VND without routing through a centralised exchange, or for users seeking to swap SOL for other assets without creating an account, BitcoinVN offers a low-friction option backed by over a decade of operational track record. The liquidity pool programme additionally offers a yield opportunity for SOL holders willing to accept custodial risk in exchange for swap-fee-based returns — and with the pool recently expanded to 5,000 SOL capacity and commanding the platform's top APR, it represents a meaningful and growing point of integration between BitcoinVN and the broader Solana network.
