Aliniex
Vietnam's crypto exchange turned Southeast Asia payment infrastructure
On-chain activity
Aliniex Exchange
Aliniex Exchange is a centralised VND-crypto exchange offering spot trading, swap, and earning functions.
Aliniex
Aliniex is a Vietnamese digital asset company founded in 2017 by Percy Phan in Hanoi. What began as a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange targeting Vietnamese retail users buying and selling crypto in Vietnamese Dong (VND) has since expanded into a multi-product fintech platform serving Southeast Asia and beyond. Today the company operates two distinct but connected products: the original Aliniex P2P exchange and AlixPay, a B2B fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure layer built for fintechs, e-wallets, and merchants.
The Original Exchange
Aliniex launched during the 2017 crypto wave as one of Vietnam's first domestic exchanges, addressing a real gap: Vietnamese users had no straightforward, locally regulated venue to buy and sell digital assets in their own currency. The platform offered P2P trading, a built-in fiat wallet that functions like a mini bank account within the app, and an educational news section to help retail users learn about blockchain and cryptocurrency markets.
The exchange supports a range of assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Coin (BNB), Solana (SOL), and other major cryptocurrencies. The P2P model lets buyers and sellers transact directly with each other in VND, with Aliniex acting as the platform rather than the counterparty. The platform has grown to serve over six million users in Vietnam.
AlixPay: Payment Infrastructure Arm
As the company matured, Aliniex built a separate B2B product: AlixPay, now accessible at alixpay.com (to which the original aliniex.com domain redirects). AlixPay is not a consumer-facing rebrand of the exchange but rather a payment infrastructure layer sitting on top of Aliniex's liquidity and compliance infrastructure. It allows third-party fintechs, e-wallets, and e-commerce platforms to add crypto on-ramp and off-ramp functionality without building exchange infrastructure themselves.
AlixPay's core value proposition is that merchants never need to touch cryptocurrency. Customers can pay in stablecoins or other digital assets while merchants receive local fiat currency — requiring no hardware changes, no workflow changes, and no new regulatory exposure on the merchant side.
Blockchain Support Including Solana
AlixPay's payment infrastructure runs across three blockchain networks: Ethereum, Polygon PoS, and Solana. Solana's inclusion reflects the platform's preference for high-throughput, low-cost settlement infrastructure suitable for high-frequency consumer payment use cases. Through its Circle Alliance partnership, the platform explicitly supports USDC as a key settlement asset across its supported chains.
Geographic Reach and Merchant Scale
The platform operates in eleven or more countries across APAC, with a Southeast Asian concentration. As of April 2025, AlixPay had connected to more than 34 million merchant acceptance points across Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. This scale comes from integration with national QR payment networks — QRIS in Indonesia and QRPH in the Philippines — as well as major regional e-wallets including GCash, Maya, GrabPay, and Coins.ph, and payment rail InstaPay.
Beyond Southeast Asia, AlixPay lists coverage across LATAM, the Middle East, and Africa, with country-level implementations in South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Liberia.
Integration Options for Partners
AlixPay offers three integration paths for fintech and Web3 partners: referral links for lightweight deployments with no webhook infrastructure required; a full REST API suite for custom UI development and real-time quote comparison; and white-label widget embedding. The API set covers order creation, real-time pricing quotes across crypto and fiat pairs, currency enumeration, and KYC handoff via Sumsub tokens that allow returning customers to skip re-verification.
Additional products include branded physical and virtual Visa crypto cards and a QR Scan-to-Pay checkout product for merchants and NFT platforms.
Compliance and Security
Aliniex/AlixPay holds a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Poland and a Money Services Business (MSB) license in Canada. It has achieved SOC 2 certification. For transaction monitoring, the platform partners with Chainalysis. KYC verification is handled via Sumsub.
Summary
Aliniex is a Vietnamese fintech company that operates both a consumer-facing P2P exchange for retail crypto trading in VND and a B2B payment infrastructure platform (AlixPay) that bridges fiat and crypto across Southeast Asia and beyond. It supports Solana as a settlement layer alongside Ethereum and Polygon, and holds a Circle Alliance partnership for USDC. With over six million users, 34 million merchant touchpoints as of 2025, SOC 2 certification, and dual VASP/MSB licensing, Aliniex represents one of Southeast Asia's more developed domestically-grown crypto infrastructure companies.
