Flint Trade Joins Frontier Traders as an Official Solana Market-Maker Venue
The Solana Foundation confirmed Flint Trade as a Frontier Traders venue, making volume routed through Flint eligible for VIP rebates and maker incentives.
The Solana Foundation announced on September 1, 2026 that Flint Trade is now live on Frontier Traders, the Foundation's network-level institutional trading program. The listing adds Flint's on-chain propAMM as an approved venue, meaning trading volume routed through Flint now counts toward a firm's Frontier Traders tier eligibility.
Frontier Traders tracks a firm's cumulative trading activity in aggregate across all approved Solana venues, rather than per-venue as traditional exchange VIP programs do. For market makers, the program has a dedicated maker tier: the Solana Foundation pays $15,000 per asset per month, split by volume among makers holding spreads below 2.3 basis points NBBO mid on trades under $250,000.
What Flint Provides for Market Makers on Solana
Flint's infrastructure handles the Solana-specific overhead that has historically kept professional trading firms off Solana spot: gas and priority fees, transaction sequencing, submission, and fill reporting. Market makers connect via a Rust or Python client library, send prices, and the system handles transaction landing.
The on-chain matching component is a propAMM, a multi-maker venue where each market maker maintains an isolated book of USDC-quoted positions inside shared market accounts. At match time, the on-chain program merges all active maker intents into a single virtual orderbook and allocates fills pro-rata at each price level. A maker quoting tighter prices earns priority over wider quotes at that level, without the winner-take-all dynamic that rewards latency over pricing.
Three quoting strategies are available. Oracle offset sends a fair price plus an offset ladder, so subsequent updates require only a new fair price rather than rewriting the full order state. Order list supports explicit CEX-style placement. Linear distribution interpolates evenly between price anchors on each side. Cross-market pairs are derived synthetically per maker at match time: the JTO/SOL price, for example, is computed from the maker's JTO/USDC and SOL/USDC legs.

Jupiter, DFlow, and Titan Are the Live Taker Aggregators
Three of Flint's four taker aggregator integrations are currently live: Jupiter JUP$0.216+0.2%, DFlow, and Titan. OKX DEX is listed as in progress on the Flint website. All three are also founding program venues in Frontier Traders, meaning flow they route is already tracked within the same program Flint now joins on the maker side.
Solana Compass analytics tracked the following 30-day aggregator volumes for each of Flint's live taker integrations as of September 1, 2026:
Jupiter led with $14.9 billion in the 30-day window, DFlow processed $2.4 billion, and Titan $427 million, per Solana Compass. Jupiter, DFlow, and Titan have collectively processed $1.36 trillion in all-time aggregator volume. Solana posted $47.25 billion in trailing 30-day DEX volume as of early August 2026, ranking it first among all blockchains according to DefiLlama.
Flint's Quote Cost Against the Prop AMM Field
Third-party analysis by Pine Analytics, published August 25, 2026, measured Flint's quote update cost at 281 compute units per transaction based on a ten-minute sample on August 23. That placed Flint below BisonFi at 404 CUs, Aquifer at 486, and Quantum at 638 in the same sample. Pine Analytics noted that venues batching multiple markets per transaction have lower per-market costs when amortized, and that compute units are one input to landing priority, not the only one.
On fees, Pine Analytics pulled the mainnet catalog on August 24 and found Flint charging 0.01 basis points on stable-to-stable pairs, 0.5 basis points on major pairs like WSOL/USDC, and 1 basis point on volatile pairs.
Flint's Founding Team
Flint was co-founded by Joshua Watts, previously at the dYdX Foundation, and David Gorski, who was at Jito Labs and Jump Trading before starting the company. The engineering team includes former staff from Anza, Google, Step Finance, Drift, M0, and Coinbase.
