Portal Embedded Web3 Wallet
Portal Embedded Web3 Wallet is a white-labeled wallet infrastructure using TSS MPC cryptography, eliminating seed phrases through backup methods including Passkeys, cloud storage, and PIN recovery. The system provides cross-device syncing and sub-second wallet generation across mobile and web platforms.
Portal Enclave MPC API
Portal Enclave MPC API provides server-side blockchain signing through TSS MPC cryptography combined with AWS Nitro Secure Enclaves. The system enables sub-second transaction signing for EVM-compatible and Solana smart contracts through RESTful API endpoints.
Portal Account Abstraction
Portal Account Abstraction enables gas sponsorship, transaction batching, and programmable on-chain functionality through smart contract wallets. The system integrates with Portal's MPC infrastructure to provide configurable account abstraction features.
Portal Swaps
Portal Swaps is a token exchange aggregator supporting cross-chain swaps across Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, and Solana. The system integrates with popular aggregators to provide optimal pricing for token exchanges within Portal wallets.

Breakpoint 2024: Product Keynote: Polaris Cross-Chain Router
In a groundbreaking announcement at Breakpoint 2024, Sunny Aggarwal, co-founder of Osmosis, unveiled Polaris - a revolutionary cross-chain token portal set to transform the way users interact with cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchain ecosystems. ... This innovative token portal allows users to seamlessly trade and manage assets across multiple chains through a single, user-friendly interface.
Portal
Portal is a developer-first wallet infrastructure platform that lets businesses embed non-custodial, MPC-secured wallets directly into their applications. Founded in 2022 in San Francisco, the company provides what it calls stablecoin finance infrastructure — giving fintechs, exchanges, payment processors, and consumer apps the cryptographic plumbing to move money on-chain without requiring users to manage seed phrases or private keys.
How Portal Works
The core of Portal's technology is a Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) implementation of multi-party computation (MPC). Rather than generating a single private key held by any one party, Portal splits cryptographic signing authority into two shares: the user's device holds one share, and Portal's secure infrastructure holds the other. Neither party can sign a transaction alone. This eliminates the custodial risk of a central key store while also removing the self-custody burden from end users.
For developers who want a more server-centric deployment, Portal also offers its Enclave MPC API, which combines MPC cryptography with AWS Nitro Enclaves — hardware-isolated Trusted Execution Environments — to deliver signing without exposing key material to Portal's own operators.
Wallet recovery is supported through multiple backup paths that maintain non-custodial guarantees: Firebase Authentication, Google Drive, iCloud, passkeys, and password-based encryption are all available options. Users can also export their complete private key at any time, underscoring that Portal never holds sole custody.
Multi-Chain Coverage
Portal supports more than 100 blockchain networks. The platform handles two elliptic curve families — SECP256K1 for EVM-compatible chains and Bitcoin, and ED25519 for Solana, XRP Ledger, and similar networks — giving developers a single integration surface across fundamentally different signing schemes.
Beyond standard externally owned accounts, Portal supports ERC-4337 smart contract wallets with account abstraction and EIP-7702 delegated EOAs, enabling gas sponsorship, transaction batching, and smart contract delegation while preserving standard wallet addresses. Named integrations include Ethereum mainnet, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Solana, Bitcoin, Stellar, and TRON, with cross-chain swap routing provided through Li.Fi and single-chain liquidity through 0x.
Solana support includes ED25519 key generation, SPL token handling, and a fee sponsorship program that allows Portal-integrated apps to cover transaction costs on behalf of their users.
Developer Toolkit
Portal distributes its infrastructure through native SDKs for web (JavaScript and TypeScript), iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React Native, and Flutter. All SDKs expose EIP-1193 compliant providers compatible with standard tooling like ethers.js and web3.js.
The platform's API surface covers the full wallet lifecycle: creation and recovery, transaction building and signing, concurrent transaction management with sequential nonce handling, presignatures for low-latency signing, token transfers and balance retrieval, on-chain swaps, and webhook-driven real-time notifications for wallet activity. Fiat on-ramp and off-ramp integrations are provided through partnerships with Meld (aggregated fiat providers across multiple countries) and Noah (virtual bank accounts and fiat-to-stablecoin settlement). Yield discovery and management is available through a Yield.xyz integration covering staking, lending, and vault protocols.
Portal also supports a reseller and sub-custodian hierarchy, allowing businesses to operate branded wallet environments with scoped API keys, billing plan management, and custodian suspension controls — a structure suited to B2B fintech operators who themselves serve downstream clients.
Security and Compliance
Portal holds SOC II Type II certification and has undergone independent security audits by NCC Group and Kudelski Security, with quarterly penetration testing. Built-in transaction risk features include integrations with Blockaid and Hypernative for real-time risk scoring of transactions, addresses, tokens, NFTs, and URLs across EVM and Solana networks, including EIP-712 typed data scanning.
Customers and Scale
Notable customers include PayPal, Bitso — a Latin American crypto exchange serving more than eight million users — WonderFi, and Wigwam. Portal has been used to power developer hackathons targeting Latin American builders, including a Mobil3 event with prizes in PYUSD. At the time of its July 2025 acquisition, Portal reported it was powering millions of dollars in daily stablecoin settlement.
Founding Team and Funding
Portal was co-founded by Raj Parekh, previously a founding member and director of Visa's global crypto product division; David Scrobonia, previously at Segment; Parsa Attari, previously at Brex; and Rami Shahatit, previously at Blend.
In February 2023, Portal raised a $5.3 million seed round during what was widely characterized as crypto winter. Investors included Slow Ventures, Haun Ventures, Acrew Capital, and Chapter One. Angel backers included William Hockey (co-founder of Plaid), Henrique Dubagras (co-founder of Brex), and Diogo Monica (co-founder of Anchorage Digital).
Acquisition by Monad Foundation
On July 9, 2025, the Monad Foundation announced it had acquired Portal to accelerate its stablecoin and payments strategy. Monad is a high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for parallel execution, with its public testnet having processed more than two billion transactions from over 300 million addresses and peak throughput exceeding 10,000 transactions per second.
Under the acquisition, Portal continues to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary with its existing leadership structure intact — Parsa Attari as CEO, David Scrobonia as CTO, and Rami Shahatit as COO. Raj Parekh transitioned to the Monad Foundation as Head of Payments and Stablecoins.
The strategic rationale combined Portal's stablecoin payment infrastructure with Monad's throughput capacity to address core constraints on stablecoin adoption: sub-penny transfer costs, support for high transaction volumes, and turnkey SDKs that web2 businesses can integrate without deep blockchain expertise. Portal has stated it will use the resources from the Monad Foundation to accelerate development of liquidity integrations, compliance modules, and expanded developer tooling across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
