About

OnMeta

OnMeta is a B2B fiat on-ramp and off-ramp infrastructure company that enables Web3 applications to offer local currency entry and exit points across India, the Philippines, and Indonesia — markets where mainstream crypto access has historically been constrained by regulatory fragmentation, unfamiliar payment rails, and complex compliance requirements. Rather than building these capabilities themselves, Web3 developers embed OnMeta's compliant payment layer via API or a pre-built iFrame widget, and the platform handles everything from KYC verification to liquidity routing.

The Problem OnMeta Addresses

Getting fiat currency into and out of crypto remains one of the highest-friction points in Web3 user experience, especially in emerging markets. Payment networks like UPI in India, GCash in the Philippines, and QRIS in Indonesia are deeply embedded in daily life but were not designed with blockchain settlement in mind. At the same time, regulators in these jurisdictions have introduced anti-money-laundering and counter-financing-of-terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements that crypto infrastructure must navigate carefully. OnMeta was built to sit at this intersection — providing the payment rails, compliance stack, and liquidity management that let Web3 applications serve local users without rebuilding that infrastructure from scratch.

Core Mechanism

OnMeta operates as a middleware layer between a Web3 application and the local financial system. On the on-ramp side, a user selects a token and amount, completes an identity check, and pays via a local method such as a UPI bank transfer. OnMeta routes the fiat through its liquidity engine and delivers the purchased crypto to the user's wallet. The platform targets transaction completion in under 60 seconds, and the company reports that 91 percent of transactions have been settled within that window — a significant improvement over the five-to-ten-minute processing times typical of older gateway services.

The off-ramp flow runs in reverse: a user initiates a crypto-to-fiat conversion, OnMeta settles the token value and initiates a bank transfer in the local currency. The platform also offers a cross-border payout product that lets businesses disburse INR payments to recipients by routing settlement through stablecoins — useful for remittance or payroll use cases.

Developers access OnMeta through two integration paths. The widget integration embeds a ready-to-use UI component into a web or mobile application with minimal code. The RESTful API integration gives teams full control to build custom payment flows on top of OnMeta's processing engine, including webhook support for transaction event notifications.

Products and Features

On-Ramp Widget — A pre-built, customizable user interface for purchasing cryptocurrency with fiat. Supports KYC module configuration, theming to match the host application's brand, and pre-fill functionality for known user data.

Off-Ramp API — A programmatic interface for crypto-to-fiat conversions with instant local bank transfers and webhook-based transaction status updates.

Cross-Border Payouts — A stablecoin-mediated payout channel enabling businesses to send INR disbursements across borders, settling via USDT or USDC as the intermediate asset.

Checkout Solutions — Allows merchants to accept local fiat payments and receive settlement in stablecoins or USD.

Compliance Stack — Built-in KYC, AML screening, sanctions checking, and transaction monitoring. Merchants can use OnMeta's native KYC module or connect a third-party KYC provider. Merchant onboarding requires completing a KYB (Know Your Business) process, which the company says is typically approved within two to three working days.

White-Label Infrastructure — Fully brandable solutions via modular APIs and dashboards, enabling partners to offer on/off-ramp under their own identity.

Supported Assets, Chains, and Payment Methods

OnMeta supports over 7,000 tokens across 16 or more blockchains. Solana is among the supported networks alongside Ethereum, Bitcoin, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, TON, Ronin, Base, zkSync Era, Optimism, Tezos, Fantom, Linea, Tron, Aptos, and others. Settlement is available in USDT, USDC, USD, INR, PHP, and IDR.

On the fiat side, supported payment methods include UPI and bank transfers in India, GCash and PayMaya in the Philippines, and QRIS in Indonesia, with expansion into Vietnam planned.

Compliance and Regulatory Standing

A defining milestone for OnMeta came when it became the first fiat on-ramp and off-ramp provider in India to register with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the financial regulator under the Finance Ministry of the Government of India. This registration followed India's 2023 amendments to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act that brought virtual digital asset service providers under FIU jurisdiction. The designation is significant for B2B clients because it reduces their own compliance exposure when integrating a regulated payment provider.

No specific third-party security audits of OnMeta's smart contracts or infrastructure were documented in publicly available materials.

Team and Funding

OnMeta was founded in December 2021 by Bharath T, who serves as CEO, and Krishna Teja Nemani. The company has approximately 25 employees.

In September 2022, OnMeta closed a $1.5 million seed round led by Skycatcher Fund, with participation from Luno Expeditions, Polygon Studios, and GSF Fund. Notable angel investors included Sandeep Nailwal (co-founder of Polygon), Ganesh Swami (CEO of Covalent), Nitish Mittersain (founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies), Madhur Deep (Alibaba India head), and Hiro Mashita of Sin Growth Partners.

The company's client roster includes Ledger Wallet, the Chingari social video platform, Blade Wallet, Sky Mavis (the studio behind Axie Infinity), DeFi Kingdoms, and aggregator Onramper.

Fit Within the Solana Ecosystem

OnMeta's relevance to the Solana ecosystem is infrastructural. Solana's strengths — fast finality, low fees, and a growing ecosystem of gaming, DeFi, and consumer applications — make it well-suited for the use cases OnMeta is designed to serve: play-to-earn games that need local currency deposits and withdrawals, consumer wallets targeting first-time crypto users, NFT platforms, and DeFi protocols that want to reduce friction for users funding positions with local fiat. By supporting Solana natively alongside other chains, OnMeta gives Solana-native projects access to India and Southeast Asian payment infrastructure without requiring them to build or maintain their own compliance and liquidity layers. For developers in or targeting these regions, it offers a compliant, relatively quick path to fiat liquidity on Solana.
