About

Maxbit

Maxbit is a regulated digital asset brokerage operating in Thailand, run by Maxbit Digital Asset Co., Ltd. The platform is licensed as a Digital Asset Broker by Thailand's Ministry of Finance and supervised by the country's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), placing it within one of Southeast Asia's more formally regulated cryptocurrency markets. It targets both retail investors new to crypto and experienced traders seeking automated and professional-grade tools.

Background and Ownership

Maxbit Digital Asset Co., Ltd. was founded in 2021 and is headquartered at CW Tower in Bangkok. The company has registered capital of 500 million Thai Baht. Its principal backer is PTG Energy PCL, a company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) that holds approximately a 35% stake. Spearhead Labs holds roughly 29% and Unit Company around 28.7%. In 2025, PTG Energy made an additional 70 million Baht capital injection to support platform growth and regulatory compliance. The CEO is Pakked Ratchakijprakarn, who has represented the company at industry events including the Thailand Gold Summit 2026, where he spoke on the role of Bitcoin and gold as alternative safe-haven assets.

The institutional backing from a SET-listed energy conglomerate distinguishes Maxbit from many crypto-native startups in the region, lending the exchange a degree of corporate accountability and capitalization that supports its regulatory standing.

Platform and Core Mechanism

Maxbit functions as a centralized order-book exchange and brokerage. Users register accounts, complete KYC in compliance with Thai SEC requirements, and then access a web platform and mobile apps available on iOS and Android.

Deposits and withdrawals are handled in Thai Baht (THB) via local banking integrations, making the exchange accessible to Thai retail customers without requiring prior crypto holdings. Trading operates against a central liquidity pool connected to unnamed global liquidity providers.

The standard trading fee is 0.25% per transaction. The Maxbit PLUS Card reduces this to 0.125% - a 50% discount - for a 30-day window per activation.

Trading Features

Quick Buy/Sell allows market-rate execution without requiring users to navigate order books or set price targets, aimed at beginners or users who want straightforward exposure to an asset.

Limit Orders let traders specify an exact price at which a buy or sell should execute, giving more control over entry and exit points.

Auto DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) automates recurring purchases across more than 100 supported assets at fixed intervals. DCA is a strategy designed to reduce the impact of price volatility by spreading purchases over time rather than concentrating them at a single point. Maxbit's implementation allows users to configure the asset, purchase interval, and amount without manual intervention. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) was added to the Auto DCA offering in July 2026.

Grid Trading places a series of automated buy and sell orders across multiple price levels within a user-defined range, allowing traders to capture profits from price oscillation in sideways or ranging markets without requiring constant monitoring.

Supported Assets

Maxbit offers more than 100 trading pairs. Confirmed assets include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), Tether Gold (XAUT), PAX Gold (PAXG), Solana (SOL), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), alongside numerous altcoins. A notable milestone was Tether Gold (XAUT) debuting in the Thai market exclusively through Maxbit - the first listing of the tokenized gold product in Thailand.

Security and Compliance

Maxbit holds two internationally recognized certifications relevant to information security and data privacy. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 covers information security management systems, while ISO/IEC 27701 covers privacy information management. These certifications require periodic external audits and demonstrate that the company maintains documented controls for handling sensitive user data and operational security.

The company has also achieved compliance with Thailand's digital asset custodian requirements, confirmed by its appointment of Rakkar Digital as a compliant custodial partner. This satisfies Thai SEC rules that require licensed brokers to segregate and safely hold customer assets through approved custodians.

No public smart-contract audit reports are applicable given that Maxbit is a centralized exchange rather than a DeFi protocol, and no on-chain proof-of-reserves has been publicly published.

Customer Experience

The platform offers 24/7 customer support through live chat, help desk tickets, and a Zendesk-powered help center at maxbithelp.zendesk.com. Educational content is available through the blog at blog.maxbit.com, covering topics ranging from trading timeframes and chart reading to broader market analysis and investment planning. Content is published in both Thai and English.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Maxbit lists Solana (SOL) as one of its tradeable assets and supports it within the Auto DCA feature, allowing Thai investors to build systematic SOL positions over time. Maxbit operates as a centralized fiat on-ramp and off-ramp for retail and institutional participants in Thailand who want exposure to Solana without interacting with self-custodial wallets or decentralized protocols. For the Solana ecosystem, exchanges like Maxbit play a distribution role, bringing regulated market access to a population that might otherwise face high barriers to entry.

The platform does not deploy on-chain programs on Solana and has no native token or protocol embedded in the Solana network. Its relevance to the Solana ecosystem is primarily as a regulated venue providing price discovery, liquidity access, and fiat conversion for SOL holders in Thailand.
