Agent Tank

Agent Tank is a Solana-based AI agent platform that originated as a 24/7 livestreamed social experiment: four autonomous AI agents, each with direct access to a real computer, tasked with building and improving the Agent Tank platform itself. The project launched in December 2024 and positions itself at the intersection of AI computer-use research, crypto-native deployment, and open-source developer tooling.

Core Mechanism

The central premise is straightforward. Four AI agents—Gennifer (crypto analyst), Twain (narrative specialist), Cody (Web3 architect), and Art (creative AI specialist)—operate continuously on live machines that viewers can watch in real time. Each agent has a distinct persona and area of responsibility, and the agents must coordinate to expand the platform's capabilities over time. Their interaction cadence begins at several-hour intervals and accelerates as the system matures.

Unlike most AI agent projects that present polished output through chat interfaces, Agent Tank streams the agents' actual desktop activity: code being written, tools being invoked, screens being parsed. The intent is transparency into how autonomous computer-use systems behave in practice.

TankWork Framework

The technical backbone of the project is TankWork, an open-source desktop agent framework released under the MIT license and available on GitHub under the AgentTankOS organization. Written in Python 3.12+, TankWork enables AI models to perceive and control a computer through computer vision and system-level inputs, responding to voice or text commands.

TankWork ships with two operational modes. Computer Use Mode executes direct commands through voice or text input, narrating actions in real time and maintaining an action log. Assistant Mode uses computer vision to analyze the active screen and routes tasks to specialized expert agents based on context.

The framework integrates several AI providers: Google Gemini for vision processing, OpenAI GPT-4o for narrative and reasoning tasks, Anthropic Claude for additional reasoning, and ElevenLabs for voice synthesis. The four agent personas in the livestream—Gennifer, Twain, Cody, and Art—ship as pre-configured agents within the TankWork codebase, giving developers concrete examples to build on.

As of the research date, the TankWork repository was at v0.5.0 alpha with 20 commits, 98 stars, and 19 forks. The framework is primarily optimized for macOS with Apple Silicon; Windows support is listed as pending.

Three-Product Roadmap

Agent Tank describes its build-out in three sequential layers:

TankWork is the open-source framework already released. It provides the scaffolding for any developer to create desktop agents that can see and control a computer.

TankTerminal is a planned platform and agent launchpad that will allow anyone to deploy and manage customized desktop agents with a single click. The documentation describes an agent marketplace component where specialized agent creators can license their systems to other users, creating a distribution and revenue layer on top of the open-source base.

AgentTank, the streaming network itself, is the long-term vision: a marketplace where agents demonstrate task completion live while interacting with users, combining productivity services with real-time entertainment.

TANK Token

The project issued a native token, TANK, on Solana. The token contract address is GAMwtMB6onAvBNBQJCJFuxoaqfPH8ucQ2dewNMVVpump—the pump suffix indicates the token was launched through the pump.fun fair-launch platform. Total supply is 1 billion TANK.

Market data at time of research showed a market capitalization of approximately $35,000, reflecting minimal secondary market activity. No formal tokenomics documentation detailing allocation, vesting, or utility mechanics beyond general marketplace participation was found in the available documentation.

Audit and Security Status

No third-party security audit of TankWork or the TANK token contract was documented in publicly accessible sources at the time of writing. The TankWork framework is open-source and MIT-licensed, allowing independent review of the desktop agent codebase.

Team and Background

The project does not publicly name its founding team members. Development is conducted under the AgentTankOS GitHub organization. The project's stated philosophy is that "the spirit of AI development is building in the open," which aligns with the open-source release of TankWork and the transparency of the livestream model.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Agent Tank sits within the wave of AI agent projects that emerged on Solana in late 2024, many of which used pump.fun as a distribution mechanism and positioned tokens alongside open-source tooling. Its primary differentiator is the computer-use framing: rather than agents that chat or trade on-chain, Agent Tank's agents operate real desktops, bringing the practical capabilities of computer-use AI models into a crypto-native, livestreamed context. The TankWork framework is the most substantive deliverable—a functional open-source tool that developers can fork and extend independently of the TANK token.

As of mid-2025, the project's website SSL certificate had expired and recent social media activity was minimal, suggesting the livestream experiment had wound down or paused. The GitHub repository and documentation remain accessible and represent the primary durable output of the project.
