Solana Surpasses Ethereum to Become the #1 Blockchain by RWA Holder Count
Solana reached 285,971 RWA holders on June 18, 2026, surpassing Ethereum's 199,191 to lead all blockchains in this metric for the first time, per RWA.xyz.
Solana has surpassed Ethereum as the world's leading blockchain by real-world asset holder count, reaching 285,971 RWA wallets as of June 18, 2026, a category first.
According to data from RWA.xyz, Solana now accounts for 31% of all 924,469 RWA holders across 35 blockchain networks. Ethereum trails with 199,191 holders, and BNB Chain sits third with 101,902.
This is the first time any chain has overtaken Ethereum in this metric. Solana's 29.3% month-over-month holder growth means the crossover is not a rounding event: it happened decisively.
Solana vs. Ethereum: Holders vs. Assets Under Management
Holder count and asset value tell different stories, per RWA.xyz data. Ethereum still holds $16.3 billion in RWA value, more than five times Solana's $3 billion. BNB Chain, third in holders, holds $3.9 billion.
Solana is onboarding more individual participants than any other network, but institutional capital (treasury funds, tokenized government bonds, and large private credit vehicles) remains predominantly on Ethereum. Solana's RWA value grew 14% over the same 30-day period, while Ethereum's fell 4.7%.
User-count leadership has historically preceded capital leadership in blockchain adoption cycles, though that trajectory is not guaranteed here.
Tokenized Equities, STAC Fund, and Stablecoin Infrastructure Drive the Milestone
Tokenized equities are the clearest driver. Solana captured 97% of cumulative on-chain tokenized equity spot trading volume in May 2026, per the Solana Foundation. SPCX (tokenized SpaceX shares) has been a breakout product, available on Backpack and Sunrise exchanges. Allium Labs data shows 60% of the 316,000 spot equity positions tracked on-chain sit on Solana.
Securitize added institutional depth with its STAC fund. On June 12, Securitize expanded its tokenized AAA-rated collateralized loan obligation (CLO) fund to Solana, backed by a $250 million commitment from Ethena Labs. BNY serves as custodian, bringing investment-grade fixed-income exposure to Solana's DeFi layer.
Stablecoin infrastructure underpins both product categories. Solana's stablecoin market cap stands at $15.6 billion, with more than 10.6 million holders, a base that makes onboarding new RWA products operationally straightforward.
Monthly RWA transfer volume on Solana reached $5.5 billion in the period, a 67% month-over-month increase, per RWA.xyz.
From 273K to 285K: How the Ethereum Crossover Unfolded
The June 11 Compass report counted 273,000 Solana RWA holders with $4.4 billion in 30-day transfer volume. One week later, holders had grown by nearly 13,000 and the Ethereum crossover was complete.
The RWA Foundation noted the shift on X on June 17, stating that Solana "is now the #1 network when it comes to RWA holders."
Solana's position at the top of the holder rankings does not resolve its AUM gap with Ethereum. It is a concrete signal that real-world asset products are finding their largest user base on Solana, not on the chain that invented the category.
