Jupiter Lend v2 Lets Deposits and Borrowed Positions Earn DEX Swap Fees
Jupiter Lend v2 launches Smart Collateral and Smart Debt, letting deposits and borrowed positions earn lending yield and DEX swap fees simultaneously on Solana.
Jupiter JUP$0.247-0.3% launched Lend v2 on Monday with two opt-in vault modes that allow the same deposited capital to earn lending yield and DEX swap fees simultaneously. The official announcement also adds Multiply vaults for automated recursive borrowing and brings Re Protocol's reUSD on as a new accepted collateral asset.
The platform holds $1.9 billion in deposits and $822 million in active loans, per CoinDesk citing DefiLlama, with loan volumes ranging between $600 million and $900 million since September 2025. In the 30 days ending August 9, 24,943 wallets signed transactions on the protocol, per Solana Compass on-chain data.
Smart Collateral and Smart Debt: One Deposit Earns in Two Places
Smart Collateral pairs a depositor's assets into correlated liquidity pools alongside the matching asset โ stablecoins with stablecoins, SOL with JupSOL (JupSOL) โ so the same capital earns lending yield, staking rewards, and a share of swap fees simultaneously. Smart Debt applies the same pairing to borrowed positions: the borrowed asset is also routed into an LP, and the resulting swap fees offset a portion of the borrow cost.
Both modes are opt-in and built on Fluid FLUID$1.19+3.0%'s liquidity layer, with protocol revenue shared between Jupiter and Fluid. Users in the standard lending interface are unaffected.
How much extra yield the swap-fee layer adds depends on volume routing through the vaults.
Correlated Pairs Only โ Depeg Risk Sits With Collateral Providers
The initial rollout limits Smart Vault pairings to tightly correlated assets: USDC (USDC) and USDT (USDT) on the stablecoin side, SOL and JupSOL on the liquid staking side. Volatile or uncorrelated combinations are excluded.
The risk structure differs between the two sides. If either asset in a Smart Collateral position depegs, the collateral provider absorbs the resulting loss. Borrowers in Smart Debt positions are protected on rebalance: the protocol maintains the debt at its original loan value rather than passing a worse position to the borrower.
Jupiter stated the router does not preference its own vaults; swap traffic continues to be directed to the best available price across Solana's DEX ecosystem.
Multiply Vaults Automate Recursive Borrowing on Stablecoin Positions
Multiply vaults automate a recursive deposit-borrow loop on stablecoin positions: the vault deposits the initial amount, borrows against it, redeposits the proceeds, and repeats up to a maximum loan-to-value ratio of 95%. The compounded yield potential depends on the prevailing stablecoin lending rate and swap fee volume routed through the position.
The 95% LTV ceiling reflects the narrow spread between assets in the same category. Automated rebalancing handles position management throughout the loop.
reUSD Added as Accepted Collateral on Jupiter Lend
Re Protocol's reUSD, backed by a $510.5 million reinsurance portfolio, is now live as accepted collateral on the platform. The reinsurance-backed stablecoin was not previously available as a Jupiter Lend collateral option.
Lend v2 builds on Jupiter's July restructuring into three product verticals, with Lend sitting within the Jupiter Earn unit alongside JupSOL and the protocol's stablecoin offerings.
