Yield.xyz

Yield.xyz is a Web3 yield infrastructure company that delivers a unified API for on-chain yield strategies across more than 80 blockchain networks. Where wallets and custodians once needed to stitch together separate integrations for every chain and protocol they wanted to support, Yield.xyz replaces that sprawl with a single normalized interface covering staking, restaking, liquid staking, DeFi lending, real-world asset yields, and vault strategies.

The company's roots go back to the 2021 crypto cycle. It was founded as Steakwallet, a self-custody mobile wallet, which later evolved into Omni, a multichain wallet application. Inside Omni, the team built yield infrastructure to support staking and DeFi integration across the chains their users held. After running that stack in production for roughly two years, the team recognized the infrastructure itself—not the consumer wallet—was the durable business. They spun it out as a standalone product under the name StakeKit. A subsequent rebrand to Yield.xyz reflected the platform's expansion well beyond staking into the full landscape of on-chain yield. In early 2025 the company was acquired by Echo Base, the organization behind peer-to-peer crypto marketplace Paxful. In June 2025, Yield.xyz closed a $5 million strategic funding round led by Multicoin Capital.

The Problem

Building yield into a crypto application at any meaningful scale quickly becomes what co-founder Serafin Lion Engel has described as a "backend Frankenstein." A product team wanting to offer native staking on Solana, liquid staking via Lido on Ethereum, lending across Aave and Morpho on multiple EVM chains, and validator staking within the Cosmos ecosystem faces a separate bespoke integration for each. Each integration has its own transaction format, its own lifecycle model, and its own update cadence as protocols evolve. Maintaining that complexity in-house consumes engineering resources that product teams would rather direct elsewhere.

The Platform

Yield.xyz's answer is a REST API and TypeScript SDK that normalizes access to more than 2,900 yield strategies across 80-plus networks through a consistent schema. The core abstraction has three components:

Yields present opportunities as normalized metadata objects regardless of the underlying chain or protocol. The same data model describes a Solana native staking position, a Morpho lending pool on Ethereum, and an EigenLayer restaking integration.

Actions define the operations available on any yield: enter, exit, and manage. The inputs follow a schema-based design, so the developer integration layer does not need to know the chain-specific transaction construction rules for each protocol.

Balances provide unified position views across the full lifecycle of a yield position—active, entering, exiting, and claimable stages—giving integrators a coherent way to surface position status to end users.

The platform is explicitly non-custodial throughout. Yield.xyz constructs complete, ready-to-sign transactions but returns them unsigned. Signing and broadcasting remain entirely within the integrator's infrastructure, whether that means browser wallet prompts, hardware device flows, MPC signing services, or institutional custody systems. Yield.xyz never holds keys or funds at any stage.

Network and Protocol Coverage

EVM coverage includes Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Base, and Optimism, among others. Non-EVM coverage includes Solana, Cosmos, Polkadot, Cardano, and TON across roughly 80 networks in total. Integrated protocols span lending markets—Aave V3, Morpho, Compound—liquid staking tokens like Lido's stETH and Benqi's sAVAX, restaking infrastructure through EigenLayer, and yield vaults through Yearn Finance and Angle Protocol. Solana is among the non-EVM chains with full native support, enabling integrators to surface native SOL staking, liquid staking options, and DeFi lending positions through the same API calls used for Ethereum-based strategies.

Developer Tooling

Alongside the core API, Yield.xyz ships a set of complementary developer products. The StakeKit Widget provides pre-built, embeddable UI components so that wallets and applications can deploy functional yield interfaces without building transaction flows from scratch. Shield is a zero-trust transaction validation library purpose-built for Yield.xyz integrations, designed for institutional teams that require an independent verification layer before committing signatures on yield transactions. For AI agent developers, Yield.xyz exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server as well as AgentKit Skills integrations, enabling autonomous agents to discover yield opportunities and construct yield transactions using the same normalized schema as human-facing applications.

Clients and Scale

Yield.xyz powers yield features inside Ledger Live, the flagship software interface for Ledger hardware wallets, and Zerion's Earn section, where users manage and grow portfolio positions across more than a dozen blockchain networks. Tangem, a hardware wallet aimed at accessibility and wide chain support, also runs on the Yield.xyz API. Through these integrations the platform reports serving over four million users and processing hundreds of millions of dollars in monthly volume. The company's claim of up to 2.8x higher revenue for integrators reflects the breadth of strategies available through a single API connection compared to building point integrations for individual networks.

Position in the Market

Yield.xyz sits at the infrastructure layer of the on-chain finance stack rather than the user-facing product layer. Its customers are product teams—wallet builders, custodians, neobanks, and AI agent platforms—that need yield functionality but do not want to own the integration and maintenance burden for dozens of protocols and chains. The $5 million Multicoin Capital round is intended to fund automated yield strategy features and expanded integrations with traditional fintech players. The acquisition by Echo Base, and backing by a firm with deep Solana-ecosystem ties, positions the platform at an intersection of consumer crypto infrastructure and the institutional tooling market that is increasingly building on-chain yield into conventional financial products.
