About

Xverse

Xverse is a self-custodial Bitcoin wallet and financial platform developed by Secret Key Labs Limited, a Hong Kong-based company founded in 2021. Positioning itself as a Bitcoin super-app, Xverse lets users hold, earn, borrow, and transact across the Bitcoin layer ecosystem without surrendering custody of private keys. The platform is trusted by nearly two million users and has a 4.5-star rating across app stores.

Private keys are encrypted locally on the user device and are never transmitted to Secret Key Labs. Transactions only execute with explicit user authorization. The wallet requires no KYC. It is available as a Chrome extension and as iOS and Android apps.

Xverse supports Bitcoin L1, the Lightning Network, Spark, Starknet with privacy-preserving strkBTC (launched May 2026), and Stacks with STX, sBTC, and SIP-10 tokens. Asset support covers BTC, Ordinals (Bitcoin NFTs), BRC-20 tokens, Runes, and USDT via RGB and Lightning (integrated April 2026).

The consumer wallet enables BTC transactions across supported networks, a built-in dApp browser, and Ordinals and Runes management. Stablecoin yield of up to 6% APY launched in April 2026. Users can borrow against Bitcoin holdings without credit approval. Developer tools include the Xverse API (REST blockchain data endpoints across Bitcoin, Stacks, Ordinals, and Runes) and Sats Connect (open-source wallet SDK with approximately two million downloads). The Xverse Agent Wallet enables programmatic payments for AI agents across Lightning, Spark, and Starknet. Multisig is available through Asigna.

The Xverse codebase is open source on GitHub. An independent audit by Least Authority confirmed private keys are stored following best security practices and the system design reflects strong security consideration. The audit report is publicly available. Hardware wallets supported include Ledger and Keystone. Xverse does not track account addresses or asset balances.

Xverse intersects with Solana through a Changelly integration enabling direct Solana-to-Bitcoin swaps in the Xverse web application, making it a practical bridge for Solana users moving value onto Bitcoin layers for DeFi, Ordinals, or self-custodial savings.
