Whisp

Whisp, also branded Whispers AI (whsprs.ai, @whispersai on X), was an AI chat wallet on Solana. It is not the speech-to-text app or the snack brand of the same name. Users typed or spoke a request, such as "send 5 USDC to this X user", and Whisp's agent built and sent the transaction.

Status as of October 2026: Whisp appears to be inactive. The official website and its docs page return "404 Not Found", and the web app at app.whsprs.ai returns "402 Payment Required", which usually means the hosting has lapsed. The @whispersai account has not posted since 9 May 2025. The WHISP token still trades, but on very thin volume.

Is Whisp still working?

As far as we can tell, no. We checked on 18 October 2026:

• Website and docs: whsprs.ai and whsprs.ai/docs both return HTTP 404.
• App: app.whsprs.ai returns HTTP 402 (Payment Required), not a login page.
• X: the last post from @whispersai is dated 9 May 2025 (post). It quoted Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko ("toly") about the Seeker phone. We found no shutdown announcement.
• Token: WHISP is still listed by price trackers, but daily volume has fallen to tens of dollars.

There was no formal sunset notice, so we can't date the shutdown exactly. The last product update came on 30 April 2025. Treat Whisp as abandoned unless the team posts again.

What was Whisp?

Whisp was a chat interface for a Solana wallet. Instead of using a wallet app, a DEX or an explorer, users chatted with an AI agent that read the request and carried it out on-chain. Token listings still carry the project's own description: a "Web3 agents orchestration protocol that selects the most suitable agent for any given task" (FXEmpire listing).

According to its X posts, the agent ran on OpenAI models by default. Users could switch to DeepSeek from late January 2025 (post), and to Google's Gemini 2.0 Flash from 7 February 2025 (post). The team also posted that Whisp could sign transactions for the user, a feature it called a beta (post).

Whisp worked as a progressive web app on phones. On 12 February 2025 it went live in the Solana Mobile dApp Store (post).

Whisp features: payments to X usernames and phone numbers

Whisp's main idea was letting people pay others who had no crypto wallet:

• Send to an X username. A community recap credited Whisp with rolling out payments to X usernames in the week of 19 to 26 January 2025, which the project reposted (post).
• Send to a phone number. Whisp announced phone-number payments on 6 February 2025 (post), after adding SMS sign-in on 2 February (post).
• Gasless USDC transfers. From 13 February 2025, Whisp could send USDC without the sender holding SOL for fees (post). Gasless swaps followed on 27 March 2025 (post).

Whisp Lens and transaction explanations

Whisp Lens (v0.1, launched 26 February 2025) mixed market data and social data to explain why a token was moving (post). The team said Whisp could draw on X, Discord, Solscan and CoinGecko.

Whisp could also explain any transaction from a pasted link (post). From 30 April 2025, it explained the fees and protocols of each transaction it made. The team said those fees "are paid in $WHISP" (post). Transaction history arrived in the wallet in March 2025.

The WHISP token

WHISP is a Solana SPL token with a maximum supply of one billion. Almost all of it is circulating, per FXEmpire. Its main pool is a WHISP/SOL pair on Raydium.

The mint address is whispF7G9DHaojYHe2cdhRX5EMJzGBdqq7R57kL6inL.

The only use the team described on X was paying Whisp's in-app fees (April 2025). Token listings also mention agent deployment, marketplace payments and governance, but we found no primary source showing those uses went live. Is Whisp safe?

Whisp should not be used today, and WHISP should be treated as an abandoned-project token.

• The service is down. Users can't reach the app, so they can't use it to move funds. If a user held a Whisp-provided wallet, its funds depended on that service. We found no published custody model and no export instructions.
• No audits found. We found no public security audit of Whisp's wallet or agent stack.
• Anonymous team. We found no named team members, and the team posted no explanation for going quiet.
• Thin token liquidity. At current volumes, buying or selling WHISP can move the price sharply. A project with dead socials is also a common target for impersonator sites. The domains named above are the only official ones we know of.

Who was Whisp for?

Whisp was aimed at crypto newcomers on Solana, and at people who wanted to pay friends with no wallet, using an X handle or phone number. It was mobile-first, with a PWA and a Solana dApp Store listing. Its limit was that it only worked as long as the team's hosted service ran, and that service is now gone.

Whisp alternatives

If you want to send or swap on Solana by chat today, pick a project that is still active. It should post updates often. It should also publish its audits and say who holds the keys. History and team

• January 2025: Whisp v2 released, with payments to X usernames, a top-up button and a new desktop UI. DeepSeek support added.
• February 2025: SMS sign-in, phone-number payments, Gemini support, the Solana dApp Store listing, gasless USDC and Whisp Lens. A community analyst's 14 February recap on X, reposted by Whisp, put WHISP's market cap at about $18.6 million (post).
• March 2025: The team said it had done 50-plus customer calls and promised wallet security work and gasless transfers for all tokens (post). Transaction history and gasless swaps shipped.
• April to May 2025: Teased a voice payment agent for Solana Mobile and a "@whsprsbot" autonomous agent. Last post on 9 May 2025.
• By October 2026: Website and app offline.

The team was not publicly named. Its roadmap items from April 2025, the Solana Mobile assistant and the autonomous agent, never shipped as far as we can find.
