Solana ANZ

Your Australian and New Zealand hub for all things Solana.

About

Solana ANZ

Solana ANZ is the official regional community hub representing the Solana ecosystem across Australia and New Zealand. Founded in December 2023 and also known as Solana Downunder, the group serves as the official regional chapter of the Solana Foundation in the ANZ region, coordinating between local builders, investors, and institutional stakeholders and the broader global Solana ecosystem.

Community and Events

Solana ANZ runs a dense calendar of in-person events under its Luma page (luma.com/solanaanz), spanning Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide in Australia, as well as Auckland in New Zealand. Events range from developer workshops to high-level industry dialogues, hosted both independently and in collaboration with partners.

One flagship recurring format is the National Dialogue series, which brings institutional and regulatory voices into direct conversation with the Solana ecosystem. Events in this series have featured Deloitte sessions on tokenizing real-world assets, a Visa panel on stablecoin regulatory shifts and bank adoption, Thomson Geer on stablecoins and payments law, Mallesons on tokenizing Australian government bonds, Ashurst on tokenization in finance, and a Westpac industry lunch on digital money. These events have been held in Sydney and Melbourne, frequently at or near capacity.

On the developer side, Solana ANZ co-organizes events including a Rust Melbourne Meetup with Superteam Australia, Solana NZ Meetups in Auckland, and community meetups in Adelaide. The Solana Ecosystem Call, a recurring virtual event run by the community, has drawn more than 2,251 registered attendees.

A notable infrastructure-focused event, Validators Downunder, was hosted at Amazon Web Services offices at 555 Collins Street in Melbourne. Speakers included Adam Jones from Helio Pay, Seb Montgomery from Validator.com, Sal Samani from Squads Protocol, and Nik Vlasov from AWS, covering the Solana Foundation Validator Grants Program, staking mechanics, and what validators make possible for the ANZ region.

Industry Partnerships

In September 2025, MEXC Ventures — the investment arm of global exchange MEXC — partnered with Solana ANZ for what the parties described as their first-ever collaboration: a Web3 Builders and Traders Night held September 4, 2025 at Collins Square in Melbourne. The event drew more than 50 Web3 professionals including Solana developers, DAO contributors, project founders, and community organizers. MEXC Ventures cited the event as marking its entry into Australia's Solana builder ecosystem.

Solana ANZ maintains close ties with Superteam Australia, co-organizing events such as a Solana Grant Demo Day in Brisbane. Superteam Australia has separately partnered with AUDC Pty Ltd to launch SOLAUDD, a Solana Grant Developer Program for building applications powered by the AUDD Australian dollar stablecoin, targeting developers and startups building payments infrastructure, financial applications, and AUD stablecoin integrations on Solana. This developer program reflects the broader ecosystem-building role that Solana ANZ and its partners play in cultivating onchain product development in the region.

anzSOL: The Community LST

Solana ANZ has issued anzSOL, a liquid staking token representing delegated stake in a community-run ANZ stake pool. The pool operates on-chain at address 3H3HdarAgasjCW8WfrTyiaVEGSLygdgu74gM3JjJhpB1, with pool token ANZvHuXQh5DnBMzJ55MUyMtPxkdphgBwiPeYji2B3kxS. Available data places the pool's APY at approximately 7.19%. The token lets ANZ community members support the regional Solana ecosystem while earning staking rewards, following the model of community LSTs issued by other regional groups within the Solana ecosystem. Community polling on whether an Australian Solana validator would go live before 2026 reflects ongoing interest in establishing local infrastructure.

Builder Community

The community fields a team of Australian builders known as The Hackaroos in Colosseum-organized hackathons — Solana's primary venue for founders to launch startups and compete for venture funding. The Hackaroos connect the ANZ regional community to the global Colosseum pipeline of early-stage Solana projects.

Branding and Channels

The project's primary website is solanaanz.org. It maintains an active presence on X as @SolanaANZ (displayed as Solana Downunder), posting daily as of July 2026, amplifying Solana ecosystem news — including DEX volume milestones and institutional product launches like Morgan Stanley making SOL available through E*TRADE — alongside local community content and event promotion. The community event calendar is at luma.com/solanaanz.

The original domain anzsol.org currently redirects to the personal site of a community contributor rather than official Solana ANZ properties, and the @hackarooxyz account listed in some project registries reflects this individual contributor relationship rather than the official community channel.
