Superteam
Superteam is a Solana community that helps people find paid work and funding in crypto. It has nothing to do with NBA "superteams" or the Superteam bike wheel brand. Superteam calls itself "the talent layer of Solana". It runs local chapters in more than two dozen countries. It also runs a job board called Superteam Earn, where Solana projects post bounties, freelance gigs and grants. You do the work, and the sponsor pays you in crypto. Superteam Earn takes no cut of what you earn, and Superteam has no token of its own.
How Superteam works: country chapters, membership tiers and XP
Superteam is a network of country chapters that share one brand and one job board. Each chapter is a local club for people who build on Solana. Chapters host meetups and help hackathon teams, and many post paid work on Superteam Earn. You earn your place through work. There is no token to buy and no token gate.
The Superteam handbook calls the group a co-operative. It first set out to serve India, South East Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa. The map is now much wider. In October 2026 the Superteam website listed 25 chapters. They include the United States, the UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Nigeria and the UAE.
New chapters keep opening. Superteam Argentina held its launch in Buenos Aires on 28 August 2026, as iProUP reported. Superteam welcomed an Italian chapter on 23 September 2026.
Inside a chapter there are three levels, listed on the handbook's community structure page:
- A Lurker is anyone who joins and watches.
- A Contributor has shown real proof of work.
- A Member has full access and the best paid work.
Your standing is tracked in XP, which are Superteam's reputation points. The reputation system awards XP for bounty wins, grant projects and community work. People with a lot of XP get asked to join better-paid projects.
Superteam tracks one headline number, which it calls Community GDP. It is the total paid work that people in the community have created for each other. Superteam Nigeria shows what one chapter can reach. Its August 2025 recap said the chapter had passed $1 million in community earnings.
We have long talks with chapter leads in our archive, such as Superteam UK's lead and the team building Solana in Dubai.
Superteam Earn: bounties, freelance projects and how you get paid
Superteam Earn is the job board where most people first meet Superteam. Solana projects, called sponsors, post paid work in content, design and development. A bounty is an open contest: everyone submits, and the best entries win the prize. A project is a freelance gig: you apply, and one person is hired. Sponsors pay no commission, so the full reward goes to the winner.
To start, you sign up at Superteam Earn, verify your email and fill in a talent profile. Then you pick a listing and submit your work before the deadline. In October 2026 the site showed more than 230,000 registered members and about 2,750 sponsors.
Sponsors review the entries and choose the winners, according to the Superteam Earn FAQ. How you get paid depends on who posted the listing:
- For listings sponsored by Superteam or Solana, you complete identity checks (KYC) and a payment form. The FAQ says to expect the reward within 7 days of sending the form.
- For listings from other sponsors, the reward goes to the wallet linked to your Superteam Earn account. The sponsor may ask for its own KYC.
The sponsor page gives a feel for the money on offer. It quotes typical rewards of $500 to $1,500 for an X thread. The Superteam Earn code is open source on GitHub.
Superteam Earn for AI agents
Superteam Earn lets AI agents compete for some listings, with a human collecting the payout. An agent signs up through the Earn API and gets an API key and a claim code. It can then submit to listings marked as open to agents. A human must check the work and claim the reward with that code. An agent cannot be paid on its own.
The agent documentation sets limits. Each agent can make 60 submissions an hour. Only listings flagged "agent allowed" or "agent only" accept agent entries. Copied work gets an agent thrown out, the same rule that applies to people.
Superteam grants: equity-free funding for Solana builders
Superteam grants are small, fast cheques for people building on Solana. They are equity-free, which means you keep full ownership of what you build. You apply through Superteam Earn, often to a programme run by a country chapter. The Solana Foundation describes them as quick microgrants of about $10,000 for early-stage builders.
The Solana Foundation USA Grants, run by Superteam USA, show how one programme works. Its grant page lists cheques of up to $10,000 and a reply in about a week. It is open only to people in the United States. The programme was paused to new applications when we checked in October 2026.
If you need an idea first, try Superteam Build. It lists more than 200 project ideas picked by Solana founders, with links to grant programmes that might fund them.
Superteam hackathon sidetracks, Superteam Black and Solana Summit
Superteam adds extra prizes and local help around Solana's big hackathons. A hackathon is a contest to build a new product in a few weeks. While one runs, sponsors post "sidetracks" on Superteam Earn. A sidetrack is a side prize for teams that use one sponsor's product. Chapters also host build days and summits, and give away tickets to Breakpoint, the main Solana event of the year.
Crypto World's Fair is the autumn 2026 example. It is an online hackathon run by Colosseum. The hackathon page set a mid-October deadline for entries. A few weeks before it, Superteam Earn said sponsors had added sidetracks worth more than $325,000 on top of the main prizes.
Superteam Black is the part of Superteam aimed at startup founders. It takes in teams and gives them perks from partners, such as credits for cloud hosting, security and legal work. In September 2026 Superteam Black said its teams had used more than $1 million in perks.
Chapters host their own events too. Three Superteam groups co-hosted Solana Summit Singapore in October 2026. Superteam Australia said about 2,000 people came.
How to become a Superteam member
You become a Superteam member by doing useful work for Solana in public, again and again. You cannot buy your way in. Most people start by winning bounties or projects on Superteam Earn. That can make you a Contributor. If you keep adding value, a chapter may then invite you to become a full Member.
The handbook lists four ways to reach Contributor level:
- win bounties or projects that count;
- answer questions on the Solana Stack Exchange;
- get a Member with more than 1,000 XP to vouch for you;
- join the Superteam Talent Network and show strong proof of work.
Chapters add their own routes. Superteam India also counts a win at a global hackathon, a full-time job at a Solana team, or a Solana startup of your own.
Member spots are scarce on purpose. The handbook says Superteam keeps only about 150 of them and removes Members who go quiet. Members get perks from partner firms, such as money off audits, RPC services and travel.
Who Superteam is for
Superteam suits people with a skill and no crypto contacts. If you can write, design, edit video or code, you can enter a bounty today without an interview or a CV. It is a strong fit if you live outside the main tech hubs and want to be paid at global rates.
It also suits two other groups. Early-stage founders can use a grant of up to about $10,000 to build a first version without giving up equity. Solana projects that need content or code can post a bounty and pay only for the work they pick.
Superteam is a weaker fit if you need steady income. Bounties are contests, so most entrants in any one bounty earn nothing for their time. Treat bounty wins as a portfolio and a way in, and look to freelance projects or full-time roles for regular pay.
Is Superteam Earn legit? Risks to know before you submit
Superteam Earn is a real job board that has run for years, with open-source code and thousands of sponsors. The main risk comes from how it is set up. Sponsors judge the work, and sponsors send the payment. Superteam's public documents do not describe an escrow or a payment guarantee for outside sponsors. Check who the sponsor is before you put days into an entry.
Other points to weigh:
- Unpaid effort is normal. In a bounty, everyone does the work and only the top entries are paid.
- Payment can need KYC. You must pass identity checks to be paid for listings sponsored by Superteam or Solana.
- There is no Superteam token. Superteam India says Superteam has "no treasury, no token" and takes no cut of earnings. A token sold under the Superteam name does not come from Superteam.
- Member spots are limited. Years of good work may still not lead to full membership.
- Public figures do not always match. The sponsor page still quotes 15 countries, while the homepage lists 25 chapters. The handbook calls itself "raw" and a work in progress.
Solana Compass lists no on-chain program for Superteam, so there is no smart contract or upgrade key to assess.
Superteam Earn alternatives
The best alternative depends on what you want from Superteam. For hackathon prizes and startup money, go straight to Colosseum. It runs the hackathons and backs winners from its own venture fund. For larger grants, the Solana Foundation funds open-source work and other public goods. It pays in stages as you hit milestones.
For small paid tasks, Gibwork calls itself an "onchain work marketplace". People post tasks there, and others complete them for a bounty. Superteam Earn's edge is breadth. One profile covers bounties, freelance gigs, grants and hackathon sidetracks, with a local chapter behind you.
Superteam founder, funding and token
Akshay BD is the founder of Superteam. A Solana podcast names him as founder and says he also advises the Solana Foundation. Before crypto, he helped launch Uber in India. Superteam has no token. Superteam India calls Superteam a public good that takes no cut of what members earn.
