Jupiter Launches Universal Deposit, Bringing Any-Chain Tokens to Solana USDC

Jupiter JUP$0.245+6.3% launched Universal Deposit on September 2, collapsing the multi-step process of moving assets from other chains into a single transaction that delivers USDC directly to a Solana wallet. Users on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and Sui can send any supported token and receive native USDC on the other end, with Jupiter handling the routing, bridging, and swap automatically.

How Universal Deposit Routes Any Token to USDC on Solana

The back-end infrastructure is Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, which burns USDC on the source chain and mints an equivalent amount of native USDC on Solana, producing a 1:1 transfer with no wrapped tokens. Wormhole W$0.00958+0.0% provides the cross-chain messaging layer that validates bridge attestations. For source tokens that are not already USDC, Jupiter's swap infrastructure handles the conversion before the bridge step.

The flow requires one confirmation from the user: connect a source-chain wallet, specify the token and amount, connect the Solana wallet, and confirm. Jupiter handles what would otherwise be two or three separate application sessions.

A $0.30 Flat Fee, Whether Depositing $100 or $10M

The $0.30 fee is fixed regardless of how much is being moved. At $100 that is 0.3%; at $10,000 it is 0.003%. Larger transfers benefit from cost predictability, given that traditional bridge paths charge percentage-based fees or layered slippage that scale with size.

The existing Jupiter CCTP bridge handles USDC-to-USDC transfers across supported chains at no Jupiter interface fee. Universal Deposit extends that foundation by accepting any supported token on the source side, routing the swap automatically, and charging a flat $0.30 for the full service.

Four Supported Chains at Launch: Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and Sui

Universal Deposit opens with four source chains: Ethereum, its two major L2s (Base and Arbitrum), and Sui. The set covers both EVM networks and Sui's Move-based environment, reaching across the primary chains where USDC and other liquid assets are concentrated outside Solana.

The existing Jupiter CCTP bridge supports a wider set of networks for direct USDC transfers, including Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, and Aptos alongside the four Universal Deposit chains. Universal Deposit's chain list at launch is narrower but covers the highest-volume source networks.

Jupiter as Solana's Cross-Chain Entry Point

JUP is Jupiter's governance token. In the seven days to September 1, Jupiter processed $3.5 billion in swap volume through its routing engine. Universal Deposit extends Jupiter's role from where users trade to where multi-chain users arrive.
