On-chain activity
Magent Agent
An AI agent that performs automated market research and analysis for Web3 projects.
Magent
Magent was an AI marketing tool from a small team that began work in December 2024. It is not Google's Magenta music project, and it is not one of the many "Magnet" ad tools. Magent set out to turn marketing data into plans, posts and ad copy. Its web app let you sign in with a Solana wallet.
Magent now looks inactive. Its website, hellomagent.com, did not load when we checked on 11 October 2026. Its public code last changed in August 2025. Its X account showed no posts from the past year. We found no Magent token and no on-chain program from the team.
Is Magent still active?
Magent does not look active as of 11 October 2026. Three signs point the same way.
- The website is gone. The name hellomagent.com failed to resolve from two separate networks. That means the site is offline, not that it was blocking us.
- The X account is quiet. A search of @magentHQ found no posts in the past 12 months.
- The code has stopped. All three public code stores last changed in or before August 2025.
We found no shutdown notice, so there is no known end date. One part still runs. The backend address named in the code sent back a short welcome note on 11 October 2026. So a server is still on. That is not the same as a working product, since the site in front of it is gone.
If you came here to find the Magent app, take care with any site that uses the name. Lapsed web names are often bought by other people. A wallet prompt on a revived copy of the site would not come from the first team.
What did the Magent AI marketing assistant do?
Magent called itself an "AI-powered marketing assistant". It was pitched at teams with lots of data and little time to read it. The Magent frontend README lists three main jobs: spot trends as they happen, suggest a plan, and write content to fit each audience. The code page sums it up as a "one-stop home for results-driven marketing".
The README roadmap marks two items as done and three as not started:
- Pay-per-result campaigns: done. The name hints that you paid for results, not views. The README does not set out the terms.
- An AI agent to run social media accounts: done.
- An ads network or exchange: not started.
- Voice commands to set up a campaign: not started.
- An "NFT digital ad-pass": not started.
The last frontend commits, on 4 August 2025, worked on a form builder and a "marketplace" branch. The README does not cover either one, so we can't say what they did.
The README also says Magent would make planning 70% faster and cut costs by up to half. The team labels these "projected outcomes". We found no outside test or user report to back them.
How Magent used Solana and AI agents
Magent was a web app with Solana added on. It was not an on-chain protocol. The README lists Solana under its backend, and the frontend code pulls in the standard Solana wallet and token tools. In plain terms, you could link a wallet to your account, and the app had the means to move tokens. The README does not say which tokens, or what you would pay for.
The README names no program address, and none is tied to this listing. So there is nothing on-chain to inspect: no contract to audit and no upgrade key to check.
The AI side had two parts. The frontend uses OpenAI's code library. A second code store, magent-agent, is built on Eliza. Eliza is a free, open kit for running AI agents on X, Discord and Telegram. The store holds nine commits, made from 14 December 2024 to 16 January 2025. Some of them turn the X client on and off. That fits the "AI agent for social media" item on the roadmap.
Who was Magent for?
Magent was aimed at small teams and founders who wanted AI help with research, content and social posts. You also had to be happy to sign in with a Solana wallet. The pay-per-result idea would have suited firms with small budgets that wanted to pay only when an ad worked.
It suits no one now, since you can't reach the app. Builders may still find the code useful to read. The agent code has an MIT licence, which lets you reuse it. It shows one way to set up a social media agent with Eliza.
Magent risks: no audit, no token, no live site
The main risk with Magent now is fakes. The site is offline, the X account is quiet, and the name is close to other products. A site, token or ad that uses the Magent name has no clear link to the first team.
Three more points are worth knowing:
- We found no security audit. The README says the product had "end-to-end encryption" and was "GDPR and CCPA compliant". It gives no proof of either.
- We found no Magent token from the team. No mint address is in the README or on this listing.
- Your account and campaign data sat on the team's own servers, as with any web app. With the site gone, there is no public way to get them back.
Magent team and history
Magent's code sits under the GitHub account Goketech. That profile belongs to a software engineer based in Nigeria. Frontend commits come from that account and one other person. No other team members are named, and the README signs off as "the Magent Team".
The README says Magent won third place in the General Track at the Lagos Nexus Hackathon on 14 December 2024. The agent code got its first commit that same day. We could not find an outside list of winners to confirm the result.
Work went on for about eight months. The frontend passed 400 commits before it stopped in August 2025.
